Every man who enters Thunder House has a story.
Many have lived on the streets.
Many have slept in cemeteries, ghettos, abandoned buildings, and drug smokehouses.
Many have spent years trapped in addiction, crime, hopelessness, and despair.
Many believe their lives are beyond repair.
We believe something different.
We believe Jesus Christ still transforms lives.
Thunder House exists to bring men out of addiction and into a living relationship with Jesus Christ through deliverance, healing, discipleship, restoration, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
More Than Rehabilitation
Thunder House is not simply a drug rehabilitation center.
It is a discipleship home.
Our mission is not merely to help men stop using drugs.
Our mission is to see them become completely new creations in Jesus Christ.
We believe lasting freedom comes when Jesus changes the heart.
As men surrender their lives to Christ, they begin a journey of transformation that reaches every area of their lives.
Old addictions are replaced with new purpose.
Old habits are replaced with biblical truth.
Old identities are replaced with the identity of a son of God.
The Thunder House Journey
Every man who enters our program is welcomed into a Christ-centered community where he receives:
- Deliverance from addiction through the power of Jesus Christ
- Biblical discipleship and spiritual mentoring
- Daily prayer and worship
- Bible study and sound biblical teaching
- Vocational training and practical life skills
- Character development
- Opportunities to serve others
- Restoration of family relationships whenever possible
Our goal is not simply recovery.
Our goal is lifelong discipleship.
Raising Sons of Thunder
Jesus gave James and John the name “Sons of Thunder.”
They were ordinary men transformed into bold disciples who changed the world through the power of the Holy Spirit.
That same transformation is taking place today at Thunder House.
Men who once wandered the streets are becoming leaders.
Men who once lived in cemeteries are leading worship.
Men who once spread addiction are now spreading the Gospel.
Men who once lived without hope are becoming fearless witnesses of Jesus Christ.
The men who enter Thunder House are not defined by where they have been.
They are defined by who they are becoming.
A New Beginning
We have already witnessed hundreds of lives transformed through the grace of God.
Families are being reunited.
Communities are being strengthened.
Churches are being built.
Disciples are being raised up.
Most importantly, souls are being saved.
Every man who walks through the doors of Thunder House represents another opportunity for the power of Jesus Christ to be revealed.
From the Tombs to New Life
The men who come to Thunder House often arrive from Liberia’s ghettos, prisons, cemeteries, swamps, garbage dumps, and drug smokehouses.
They arrive carrying years of addiction, trauma, shame, and hopelessness.
But they do not stay there.
By the power of the Holy Spirit, chains are broken.
Lives are restored.
Hope is reborn.
Disciples are made.
The Gospel is advancing.
One transformed life becomes another testimony that Jesus Christ still saves, still heals, still delivers, and still restores.
This is Thunder House.
